Replace the sofa and the air of the room changes less than you expected. The reason is simple: the floor and walls take up almost all of the area in your field of view.
In a room whose surfaces aren't resolved, anything you place looks out of place. When the base is settled, the impression changes even with the furniture you already own.
That is why renovy starts from the surfaces, not the furniture.

Floor
The surface that sets the room's center of gravity. Tone and grain direction alone can make the same layout feel more spacious, or more grounded.
Wall
The surface that shapes reflected light. The white you choose and the coarseness of its texture change how soft the shadows fall.
Curtains
The surface that ties floor and wall together. Fabric and length make the final call on how the room reads by day and by night.
